Vrksasana - The Tree Pose

The Tree Pose is a balance pose

Please Note: Care should be taken ...

The posture can be done standing with your back against a wall for stability

If adopting the higher foot positions do not place the sole of the foot against the knee. It does not matter if you cannot reach the thigh ... stay at calf level

The position of the raised knee should be comfortable for you and may be out to the side (in line with your hips) or further forward, depending on your flexibility... that is ok

The Tree Pose increases your mind and body awareness, develops balance and strengthens your posture. It also strengthens your thighs, calves, core and foot muscles as well as stretching your inner thighs, groin and shoulders. It calms and relaxes the mind and the central nervous system.

The flowing tree allows you to reach an inner peace as you flow though the movements concentrating on your breathing and forgetting about daily life going on around you
